LINCOLN, NE – April 30, 2025 – Schwisow Construction is excited to announce the addition of Jacob Mitchell to its team as a Construction Management Intern. A student currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Jacob brings a strong drive to learn, a team-first mentality, and a passion for hands-on experience in the field.
Jacob was drawn to Schwisow Construction after connecting with the team at the University of NE - Lincoln career fair. “I was impressed by the confidence Schwisow showed and the potential I saw in the company,” said Mitchell. “I want to learn more about the field—especially the hands-on side of things—and this internship felt like the right place to do that.”
What excites Jacob most about the construction industry is the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and not be tied down to just one place. He enjoys collaborating with others and believes a supportive and open team is essential to success. “I prefer working in a team so I can hear others' opinions instead of just mine,” he shared. “I think the best work environments are ones where you can trust your coworkers and where feedback helps you grow.”
Outside of work, Jacob enjoys golfing, spending time with friends, and relaxing with a good show—he’s currently hooked on Invincible on Amazon Prime. He also dreams of one day traveling to Australia to explore the Outback.
Throughout his time at Schwisow, Jacob hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the industry, including areas like project cash flow, and continue growing professionally. “My dream job is to grow with a company and see how far I can improve myself and the company,” he said. Looking five years down the road, Jacob sees himself succeeding in a role that constantly challenges him to improve and evolve.
