Schwisow Construction is proud to celebrate President and CEO Doug Blum, who marks 35 years of leadership, dedication, and vision with the company this year.
Doug began his career with Schwisow Construction in 1990 and has since helped shape the company into one of Nebraska’s leading general contracting firms. Over the decades, he’s overseen some of Schwisow’s most notable projects, including: American Tool, Lincoln Plating, PCE Corporate Offices, Lincoln Industries campus, TMCO campus and Timpte Corporate Center/ Lincoln Manufacturing Center. “Those jobs were some of the most rewarding to work on together,” Randy Harre shared.
When asked about his proudest accomplishments, Doug’s colleagues point to the relationships he’s built with both employees and clients. “Doug is an inspirational leader,” said Wesley Lueck. “He inspires others to be their best version of themselves — to lean into their individual strengths for the greater good of not just Schwisow Construction, but for our entire industry as well. He leads with a community-first focus in every aspect of the business, and he expects each of us to do the same.”
Doug’s leadership philosophy has left a lasting impact on those around him. “He taught me the phrase ‘eat the frog’, meet challenges head-on instead of avoiding them,” Mike Berry shared, “During my years at Schwisow Construction, I’ve watched Doug move the company forward while cultivating professionalism and dignity within every employee.”
Perhaps most meaningful to Doug is having his children play an active role in the company’s ongoing success, a legacy built not just on projects, but on people and family.
From all of us at Schwisow Construction… Thank you, Doug, for 35 years of leadership, mentorship, and commitment to building excellence!
