Schwisow Construction is pleased to welcome three talented students to its 2026 summer internship program. Representing a variety of disciplines and career interests, interns Claire McAllister, Ricardo Vicente-Vasquez, and Isaac Pullen are gaining hands-on experience while learning about the many facets of the construction industry.
Claire McAllister, a senior Interior Design student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, was drawn to construction by her passion for seeing ideas evolve from drawings and concepts into real, functional spaces. She was interested in interning with Schwisow Construction because of the company's welcoming culture and collaborative environment. This summer, Claire is looking forward to learning how projects are managed from start to finish and gaining a deeper understanding of how teams work together to bring projects to life.
Ricardo Vicente-Vasquez is studying Architecture at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with minors in Construction Management and Business. Growing up around construction through his father sparked his interest in the industry. Ricardo was attracted to Schwisow Construction’s diverse project portfolio, but says it was the people and company culture that ultimately made the organization stand out. During his internship, he hopes to strengthen his communication, management, and coordination skills while learning more about the role of a general contractor and the construction process.
Isaac Pullen, a Construction Management student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, discovered his passion for construction after initially pursuing engineering. He was drawn to the industry because it combines technical problem-solving with opportunities to work closely with people. Isaac is eager to learn more about estimating, project acquisition, and what it takes to successfully deliver a project from concept to completion. He credits Schwisow Construction’s open communication and willingness to answer questions as one of the highlights of his internship experience so far.
Throughout the summer, interns will have opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals, visit active job sites, and gain exposure to multiple areas of the construction process. The internship program is designed to provide real-world experience while helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the industry.
"We're excited to have Claire, Ricardo, and Isaac on our team this summer," said Lindsey Bernt, Senior Manager Business Development, Design and Construction at Schwisow Construction. "Each brings a unique perspective, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn. We're proud to invest in the next generation of industry professionals and look forward to helping them grow throughout their internship experience."
Schwisow Construction remains committed to developing future industry leaders through meaningful learning opportunities and hands-on experience that connects classroom knowledge with real-world application.
